BACK IN CHILDHOOD

Childhood, the most beautiful of all life's seasons, the most memorable and celebrated part of one’s life. No worries to worry about, no responsibilities to shoulder, no promises to make, all the time to spend with yourself, exploring your own imagination, heart as pure as the driven snow. This would be a never ending list if I go on with it, still if I am to expound childhood in a few words it would be in the words of John Betjeman,” Childhood is measured out by sounds and smells and sights, before the dark hour of reason grows”.
I'd give all the wealth that with time i have piled,
To slow this time for a little while,
To be once again that little child
For one bright summer day.
To be true, while I am writing all this, I am reminded of all that time I spent with my parents as a child. Well, my mom called last night and she talked about my post, ‘First day at school’. I was so honoured to know that she read it. She said there was something missing in it and when I asked, what? She told me that while she was taking me to the class for my first day at school, I was king of pulling her away but she won’t listen and I pulled off her swatter and kept it with me all day. So, where were we? Yes, childhood. There is something about growing up that makes you wish for the simplicity of your childhood. Maybe it’s the ease of making decisions or the difference of what money can buy. When you are a child you can make decisions by using the “eenie meenie miney moe” or “akad bakad bamaby boe” method. Having a handful of shiny quarters can buy you your favourite candy and a plastic ball full of silly putty. If everything were so easy as an adult, life would be less stressful.
I would leave you here with a question that if u could get a day back into your childhood, what day would it be?
